How this score was reached

Well documented and readily accessible. This measures how well the network can be assessed and participated in: documentation, verification, cost of entry, maturity and operator risk. It is not a prediction of returns, and it reads nothing from token price.

What it does

How it works

Weather stations collect seven key environmental measurements (temperature, humidity, pressure, solar radiation, wind speed, wind direction, and precipitation) and upload them every minute. The data is quality-scored and location-verified before being made available to commercial users via the WeatherXM Pro API. Station owners receive $WXM rewards based on the quality and uptime of their data contributions.

How to participate

Purchase an official WeatherXM weather station (D1 WiFi, H2 Helium, or Pulse 4G), deploy it in an outdoor location, connect it to the network, and claim rewards via the WeatherXM mobile app.

Requirements

Hardware
WeatherXM weather station bundle (such as D1 WiFi/WB1200, H2 Helium/WS2001, or Pulse 4G/WB3000).
Software
WeatherXM mobile application (available on iOS and Android) for station setup and reward management.

Pros and cons

Strengths

  • Provides seven weather measurements from a single, solar-powered device
  • Station owners receive free PRO API access to their own station's data
  • Multiple connectivity options including WiFi, Helium LoRaWAN, and 4G/LTE

Drawbacks

  • Requires physical installation of outdoor weather station hardware
  • Dependent on network connectivity (WiFi, Helium LoRaWAN, or 4G/LTE) for data transmission

Risks

Requires upfront hardware purchase and physical installation. Rewards depend on maintaining station health, data quality, and network connectivity.
