What it does
WeatherXM is a decentralised physical infrastructure network (DePIN) of weather stations. Every observation is quality-scored and location-verified using Proof of Location (PoL) and Quality of Data (QoD) mechanisms. The network provides hyperlocal, real-time weather data, historical archives, and 7-day forecasts to businesses, developers, and Web3 enterprises via a REST API and Web3 Weather Oracle. Station owners are rewarded with $WXM tokens for maintaining healthy, well-sited stations and contributing environmental data.
How it works
Weather stations collect seven key environmental measurements (temperature, humidity, pressure, solar radiation, wind speed, wind direction, and precipitation) and upload them every minute. The data is quality-scored and location-verified before being made available to commercial users via the WeatherXM Pro API. Station owners receive $WXM rewards based on the quality and uptime of their data contributions.
